Cruz Foam

Are you searching for an eco-friendly option to replace EPS foam?

What is Cruz Foam?

Cruz Foam is revolutionary packaging foam made from repurposed food waste. This biobased material has been tested and verified as high performing protective packaging as well as for cold chain applications.

Cruz Foam is made from 70% upcycled ingredients from food waste. By diverting this waste from landfills and using it to create a product that replaces another landfill-bound product - conventional packaging foam - Cruz Foam contributes to a circular economy.

Introducing an innovative solution to sustainable cold chain shipping: Cruz Cool

With approximately 2.2 million tons of EPS foam being produced annually, and with 87% of consumers explicitly concerned about packaging waste, Cruz Foam is dedicated to making packaging more sustainable.

Cruz Cool is the sustainable shipping cooler replacement for traditional EPS foam coolers. It is ASTM D6400 and D5338 tested compostable and provides 48+ hour insulation and protection for conventional cold chain e-commerce fulfillment.

Cruz Foam, a California-based startup dedicated to developing sustainable alternatives to conventional packaging materials, has partnered with A New Earth Project and Atlantic Packaging as its go-to-market partners. Together, they are proud to introduce a compostable packaging material that is eco-friendly and can decompose naturally.

Cruz Foam is made of 70% upcycled ingredients from food waste. The resulting foam is strong, lightweight, and can be used for a variety of applications, from packaging to insulation.

What Cruz Foam Can Do

Benefits of Switching to Cruz Foam
Reduced Waste
One of the key benefits of Cruz Foam is that it’s made from a waste product that would otherwise be discarded, reducing the amount of waste generated by the food system. The company aims to contribute to the circular economy, where Cruz Foam can be used for a second and third life before going to compost.
Environmental Sustainability
Compostable packaging materials are designed to break down naturally without causing harm to the environment. This can help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills or oceans, and can also reduce the need for non-renewable resources.
Consumer Appeal
Many consumers are increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of the products they buy, and are attracted to products that use eco-friendly packaging material.
Regulatory Compliance
Many countries and regions are introducing regulations to reduce the use of plastic packaging materials. In fact, California’s new Plastic Pollution and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act–the most ambitious packaging EPR program ever passed—makes the switch to compostable and recyclable packaging highly relevant.
Reduced Carbon Footprint
Many compostable packaging materials are made from renewable sources, such as plants and food waste, which can help reduce the carbon footprint associated with traditional packaging materials.
Versatility
Compostable packaging can be used for a wide range of applications, from food packaging to shipping materials, making it a versatile alternative to traditional packaging.
