Horace Carter who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Public Service in 1952 for his work championing social justice. This privately-held company is now over 75 years old and continues to be led by the Carter family. Horace's son, Rusty, serves as Atlantic Packaging CEO today and his grandson, Wes, serves as President. With Atlantic providing the strong foundation, A New Earth Project is in the unique position to drive real outcomes in our mission.

Atlantic is in a unique position in the packaging supply chain, sitting between manufacturers and users of packaging.

This company has the ability to offer an informed but neutral perspective on which products in the marketplace are sustainable in terms of how they are made and how they perform. Cruz Foam, a California-based startup dedicated to developing sustainable alternatives to conventional packaging materials, has partnered with A New Earth Project and Atlantic Packaging as its go-to-market partners. Together, they are proud to introduce a biodegradable packaging material that is eco-friendly and can decompose naturally. To make Cruz Foam, shrimp shells are treated with a proprietary solution that breaks down the chitin in the shells and turns it into a biodegradable foam material. The resulting foam is strong, lightweight, and can be used for a variety of applications, from packaging to insulation.
