Cosmic Connections: A New Earth Project x Mountains of the Moon

A New Earth Project began with a belief in collaboration, that when the voices of environmental advocates and creative storytellers meet the people building real solutions, meaningful change becomes possible. That belief led to a serendipitous partnership with Chris Benchetler, an artist, athlete, and filmmaker whose work is rooted deeply in the rhythms of the natural world.

Cosmic Connections and Creative Sparks

The collaboration grew from a simple act of hospitality. While we were in Mammoth to film interviews with Kimmy Fasani and Wes Carter, Chris and Kimmy invited us over for dinner. It was there, in their home, that Wes and Chris first met—and the spark was immediate. Wes noticed a piece of artwork on the wall and realized he had the same print back home, only then discovering that Chris was the artist behind it. That moment of recognition opened the door to something deeper: a shared way of seeing the world and an instinctive sense of alignment that would eventually lead to this collaboration.

Nature as Teacher, Art as Bridge

For Chris, nature isn’t just a backdrop, it’s a mentor. “Nature was my greatest teacher,” he explains, reflecting on how elements like water, mycelium, and seasonal cycles shape his creative process. Mountains of the Moon, his latest project, represents the culmination of years of artistic evolution and introspection. Chris’s artistic vision, paired with the timeless and improvisational music of the Grateful Dead, leads this film to explore universal interconnectedness and invites audiences to embrace a deeper sense of environmental stewardship.

The Power of Partnership

For A New Earth Project, supporting Mountains of the Moon as the Official Packaging Solutions Partner is a shared mission and journey more than it is a simple sponsorship. There’s a genuine appreciation on both sides and a sense of privilege in helping bring the project to life. “To be a small part of your support network to bring this into reality is an honor and a privilege,” Wes notes, underscoring the collaborative spirit that defines the partnership.

Looking Ahead

Fresh off the film’s premiere event, this partnership stands as a testament to what’s possible when creativity, purpose, and sustainability converge. The film and corresponding large-scale exhibition in Los Angeles (featuring a walkthrough experience and exclusive screening of the film, immersing you fully in its world - November 15th through 23rd) promise to inspire audiences to see the world - and their role in it - through a new lens.

Join us in celebrating the Mountains of the Moon release and the ongoing journey of Chris Benchetler, A New Earth Project, and the transformative power of authentic connection.
