Laguna Beach event will highlight collaborative solutions focused on eliminating plastic pollution from our global waterways
LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – November 8, 2022 – A New Earth Project - a coalition of outdoor enthusiasts, industry-leading brands, and innovative, environmentally conscious packaging suppliers - announced a newly minted partnership with the Coast Film & Music Festival, an annual showcase of adventure and nonfiction films and stories from the mountains to the sea with a vision to inspire positive change. The annual event will take place November 9-13 at The Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach.
With A New Earth Project as its official sustainability partner, the festival will adhere to specific criteria around product sourcing, recycling and composting, as well as providing onsite education to build awareness about the world’s plastic waste crisis.
“Both of our organizations aim to bring people together not only to inform, but to inspire them to be better stewards of the earth,” said Don Meek, managing director of A New Earth Project and long-time Laguna Beach resident. “Aligning with special events who share our commitment to sustainability has been a priority since we launched in April, but it was important for us to find the right partner. We have full confidence in the team behind The Coast Film & Music Festival and their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their annual event.”
The event organizers have committed to reducing the environmental impact of their event through various ways, which include sourcing recyclable or compostable food serviceware; organizing collection and hauling for recycling and composting; ensuring signage and educational materials to inform attendees how to dispose of items correctly.
Drawing on Atlantic’s 75-year history in the global packaging supply chain, A New Earth Project delivers real solutions for event management, with its core focus deeply rooted in helping brands of all sizes transition to sustainable packaging via its New Earth Approved catalog as well as custom solutions.
According to Ben Warner, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Coast Film & Music Festival: “We believe that film brings people together and inspires action. And action is needed now or we will not be able to share stories of adventure and exploration if the places we love continue to be negatively impacted by pollution.
By harnessing the power of our community to help educate and inspire others to take action, Coast Film & Music Festival has become a local force for change. To date they have donated nearly $30,000 to various charities including 1% For The Planet, Surfrider Foundation, Protect Our Winters, Laguna Canyon Foundation and others. A New Earth Project is an ideal partner and next step for as they continue to examine their environmental footprint and help others do the same.
Coast Film & Music Festival (CFF&M) takes place from November 9 - 13 at the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach. Tickets are available for purchase on the CFF&M website ranging from single-day to all-festival access. For more information, contact @CoastFilmFestival.com.
