Here at Atlantic Packaging and the A New Earth Project, we're about more than just making sustainable packaging; we're heavily invested in shaping a sustainable future. This endeavor is fueled by a broader, more holistic view of what sustainability means.
As Wes Carter, our President, eloquently states, “At Atlantic Packaging, corporate sustainability embodies the profound recognition that our choices today will influence the legacy we leave for future generations. It is our solemn responsibility to safeguard the interests of those who will follow us, necessitating decisions that conserve resources, protect ecosystems, and foster an enduring legacy of health, love and abundance. By wholeheartedly embracing sustainability, we pledge to cultivate a world that our descendants—generations yet unborn—will inherit, one that is vibrant, resilient, and brimming with potential.”
It is self-evident that our business success is inextricably linked to the health and flourishing of our employees, our communities, and our environment. Sustainability is the thread that weaves these elements together.
As the sustainability arm of Atlantic Packaging, A New Earth Project represents and reports on the vast and varied sustainability projects being embarked on within Atlantic. In 2025, we're folding it all into a single, powerful, unifying theme: "Healthy People, Healthy Planet."
We look forward to bringing you stories and highlights from our sustainability efforts, including:
Employee Wellness: Healthy employees are engaged employees. Engaged employees are not only more productive but also more creative, cohesive, and capable of transforming everyday business challenges into opportunities for sustainable innovation. The ripple effect of wellness extends beyond the workplace; when employees embrace health—through fitness challenges, mental health resources, or fostering healthy work environments—they carry that vitality into their families and communities. This heightened wellness also promotes outdoor activities and environmental consciousness.
Corporate Sustainability: We are on our own journey of sustainability, having earned a prestigious spot on CDP’s 'A List' for corporate transparency and climate action, a recognition shared by only 29 companies in North America out of more than 21,000 assessed. This accolade has built a foundation of trust with clients pursuing their own sustainability goals. We guide them through their journey, helping reduce costs and risks while leveraging our state-of-the-art Packaging Solution Center, our groundbreaking MUST program, closed-loop recycling, and our EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) awareness campaigns to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones.
New Earth Ventures: In a world increasingly seeking alternatives to conventional plastics, innovation is not just an option but a necessity for sustainability. Through our venture efforts, we not only advocate for change but actively support it by investing in innovators like Sway and Cruz Foam. We provide them with the capital, knowledge, market awareness, and services needed for design, iteration, testing, and scaling. By aiding these innovators, we're making sustainability tangible and profitable while proving that doing good can also mean doing well.
Conservation: Nothing is more vital than safeguarding our planet's sacred resources. We align with a plethora of conservation organizations, from global entities like Wild Aid, 1% for the Planet, The Surfrider Foundation, and the Conservation Alliance, to local initiatives like the Low Country Land Trust and the Bee Cause Project. Through financial support and our own storytelling, we amplify these efforts.
We Do This Together
